The Secret Life of a Drag Queen

Updated: Mar 21, 2021

I'm often asked what people would find to be the most surprising thing about me. If you've met me, you realize I am a fairly open book with a wild and sick sense of humor, so I'm not sure anything I could say here would be a surprise to anyone, but I'll give it a go...

The biggest misconception is that we are all just as loud and boisterous off stage as we are on it, and that we do not have lives outside of drag. For me, that could not be further from the truth. Most would describe me as a rather shy guy by day, with a much more polite and professional personality. I like quiet settings, and do not like to be around crowds or stress, unless I absolutely have to (or I'm working).

Daphne gives me the power (and energy) to be loud, proud and speak up for myself and others. Oddly, Daphne has the courage I often lack when I am not featuring a large blonde hat. She's larger than life, so her voice must be that much more loud - and it is. I often joke that Daphne has all the fun and Michael just winds up nursing the sore throat and hang over, and has to pick up Daphne's drag droppings the next day.
